Great stay

Had a great stay at Bancroft in the lovely colonial style home of Tina and Alan who were such great hosts. They could not do enough for us, even treating us to a home cooked traditional South African dinner. The rooms were spacious and luxurious in a very pleasant area of Pietermaritzburg. We were sent us off each morning with a cracking breakfast which will long be remembered. Alan and Tina were also kind enough to allow us to come back for an additional night at very short notice.

A Home Away From Home

The Bancroft Bed and Breakfast was truly a "home-away-from-home" experience for me! I stayed 3 days with the Wagener family, and they made me feel right at home the moment I walked through the door! Tina and Ema even met Hanan and I at a gas station and escorted us back to their home, as I had just completed the Comrades Ultra Marathon in Pietermaritzburgh. The hospitality was truly above and beyond the copious B&Bs I've stayed at in the United States. I particularly enjoyed Ema's homemade soup she made, as it was so delicious! The rooms and beds were very well decorated and had a very warm-cosy ambiance to them. The second night Alan and Tina moved us into the master-guest bedroom, which was even more stunning than the first room. The entire stay was truly lovely. I would highly recommend the Bancroft to anyone looking for an enjoyable stay with a beautiful family.
