Description
5 Third Avenue Guesthouse, located in the garden suburb of Walmer, is the closest of any form of accommodation to Port Elizabeth Airport. We offer clean and comfortable self-catering accommodation in eight private rooms each with own kitchenette and shower en-suite.
The accommodation is set back from the road, which makes for a quiet oasis close to major amenities. Six of our rooms look out over the pool and braai barbecue lapa area and a Family Unit is available. Secure off street parking. Our rooms are serviced daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays. Our establishment offers Wi-Fi, which is available in designated areas. Internet is available in reception. Selected DStv channels in rooms.
Airport transfers only between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. If you need breakfast, i need to know one day prior to arrival. The price for breakfast is not included in my rate it will be an additional R60 per person.
Please note we do have house rules. A copy can be emailed to you on request.
Please note if you are checking in later then 21h00 prior arrangements must be made. Rate differs in December and January holiday period. Member of NMBT/Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism and NAA National Accommodation Association.

Room types / Units
Pool-side Units (5 units)
All units have twin beds, kitchenette and shower en-suite. Each unit is equipped with a TV, selected DStv channels, M-net, fridge, microwave oven, two-plate stove, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery. A third foldout mattress can be added at a nominal charge of R60 per night or a single bed for a R100 per night. We also have a mattress joiner to join the two single beds, then you have one big king size bed. Rate Differs during the December and January Holiday period.

Family Unit (1 unit)
The Family Unit consists of a separate bedroom with queen-sized bed and en-suite shower, basin and toilet. There is a fold out couch in the open-plan lounge kitchenette area. All units are equipped with a TV, M-Net, selected DStv channels, fridge, microwave oven, two plate stove, oven, kettle, toaster and cutlery and crockery. Rooms are serviced daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Overnight Room Queen Size bed (1 unit)
Overnight Room has a queen size bed. It can sleep maximum two people.

Poolside Room Queen Bed (1 unit)
This room has a queen size bed. An extra bed can be added. This will be an extra R60/R100.

Non Self Catering Room (1 unit)
This room has three single beds, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, shower en suite, TV. It does not have a kitchen or cooking facilities. It is in the front and not around the pool where the other rooms are. A fourth bed can be added.

BEACHFRONT FLAT (1 unit)
Fully equipped. Enquire for rate. Minimum stay two nights. Flat is only serviced once a week or on departure. Towels and Bedding Provided. Enquire for rate and Availibility.

Overnight Room has a double size bed. It can sleep maximum of two guests. Selected DStv channels.

It was perfect.
it was a very nice place to be and everything that a person needs for self catering was there. It was very cold and raining and they supplied us with a heater.

Home Away From Home!!
The place is exactly what every holiday-maker would want, clean and well-equipped for self-catering. My kids cried when they had to leave. We've renamed it into a home-away-from-away!

It was absolutely lovely.

When you want a stress-free holiday
As we were from Joburg we found the place to be quiet, exactly what we were looking for, to cool down and take it easy in the "windy city". We really had a fab time, absolutely fabulous... Hope to go back there again i the near future....

Location was great - close to airport
We arrived at the 5 Third Avenue Guest House late in the evening (~21:30) after a flight from Johannesburg and left early in the morning (~8:00).
The guest house location was great for us since it was close to airport (5 min) and we still didn't hear any airplanes noise.
The room was clean and tidy with bathroom inside. The owners were really nice and even drove us to the airport by their car in the morning without extra payment.

Staying at the place was very nice and I will make use of it if I have to go to PE again. The only negative comment is that the bathroom of my room was very small.
