About 60% of our establishments are Guest House/Bed & Breakfast/Self Catering establishments, without an online/direct booking system. So unlike other websites that offer Hotels, we also offer the less promoted establishments throughout Africa, which gives you the experience that you are looking for. All of these 60% of establishments are not connected to the internet as Hotels are, so you are not able to book direct.
You can however "Request a Quote" with them, asking them specific questions about your needs. We recommend that you request several quotes in your search, to find the accommodation that best suits your needs. Most establishments reply to your requests within a couple of hours, giving you the opportunity to choose between several establishments and make the best choice available!

Groenhuis Guesthouse
An ideal spot to overnight on your way to or from Cape Town. The total peace and quiet is almost tangible . We met such interesting people during our short overnight stay , this "dorpie" needs another visit.

The house was lovely.
I really liked the style of furnishings and the general feel of the house, as well as the garden.

Great hospitality
Enjoyed our stay in an authentic Free State dorp. Great hospitality and lots of advice on what to see and where to eat. Our host was kind enough to allow us to come back and stay with him at very short notice and even offered us an extra day without charge. The sign posts helped us find the place easily.

Groenhuis
My daughter and I stayed here for one night and agreed that we would have loved to stay longer. Entering the cottage was like stepping back into the past. Charming, clean and comfortable. Phillipolis is the most photogenic little town, worthy of a longer stay.

Something different
We stayed over at Groenhuis Guesthouse on the way to the Cape. Our lodging was in a converted stable, very fitting for December. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, water hot, and towels pristine white. My husband enjoyed the mulberries in the garden. As the owner no longer offers meals we went to Jenny Street's home restaurant for a wonderful relaxed meal. A reasonable price and something different.

Tranquil and restful
Deciding to stay over at the Groenhuis Guesthouse proved to be an excellent choice. The accommodation and hospitality were of a high standard. The rural atmosphere provided a tranquil and restful setting.
