Description
Hills and Dales Accommodation is a relaxed, country- and home-style venue, catering for each individual guest's requirements. Enjoy the unique experience of our fully equipped and serviced self-catering and B and B accommodation, with beautiful views overlooking the river and hills. We are situated on 23 hectares of rolling countryside in the tourism supply zone for the World Heritage Site, The Cradle of Humankind.
The property is adjacent to the Lanseria Airport providing a peaceful getaway 40 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the environs of Johannesburg and Sandton. The farm is located in an area that teams with all sorts of public activities from ballooning and fishing to elephant riding and wildlife parks. Birdlife abounds.
The accommodation is protected by two 22-strand alarmed electric fences around the 23 hectare property, with a metre of anti-dig on the inside of the internal fence. At a suitable time, an infra-red passive security system is turned on to protect the surrounds of the buildings and vehicles. If this system is activated, floodlights light up the area blinding intruders and enabling us to react.
Hills and Dales is suitable for mid-week overnight accommodation for travellers from Lanseria Airport with courier services available, visiting business people looking for accommodation in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of town, people looking for a quiet break and wanting to do their own catering, and people wanting a base to travel from to visit The Cradle of Humankind, Sterkfontein, Wonder Caves and Hartbeespoort Dam. Party or office groups, bachelor parties, hen parties, family reunions and the like are accommodated by our party venues. Birders will enjoy.
Hills and Dales is not suitable for people wanting restaurant-pub facilities, a holiday resort - especially for children - people wanting 5 Star Sun City-type accommodation with all the bells and whistles, people wanting reception facilities with personalized and constant attention and people who are scared of small dogs.

Starling Self-catering (1 unit)
Upstairs accommodation, the Starling has a spacious enclosed veranda leading onto a deck overlooking the river. There are camp chairs and a weber to use on the deck for a braai where it is lovely to sit and have a sun downer. The Starling sleeps five in a master bedroom with a double bed, a spare room with two single beds and an extra bed in the spacious lounge. Additional beds can be added to the lounge if required. It has a dining room which seats six and a kitchen. The garage is situated underneath the Starling and has a door leading into the Starling staircase up to the veranda.

Dabchick Self-catering (1 unit)
The Dabchick sleep two in a double bed – one bedroom en-suite shower and toilet. It has a veranda overlooking the river and a weber if you want to have a braai. The bedroom has a bay window overlooking the view. Accommodation is cosy, attractive and comfortable.

Hoopoe Room B&B (2 units)
Guest House Accommodation. Sleeps two, situated in the main homestead, dressing room, separate bathroom & toilet and shower room and toilet. These are two bathrooms dedicated to the Pink Room and the Blue Room. Breakfast is included in the price.

Kingfisher Room B&B (1 unit)
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation. Sleeps two, situated in the main homestead, dressing room, separate bathroom & toilet and shower room and toilet. These are two bathrooms dedicated to the Pink Room and the Blue Room. Breakfast is included in the price.

Swallow Self-catering (1 unit)
The Swallow sleeps two in a double bed. The bedroom has an en-suite shower and toilet. It has a veranda overlooking the river and a weber if you want to have a braai. The bedroom has a bay window overlooking the view. Accommodation is cosy, attractive and comfortable.

Hadeda Self-catering (1 unit)
Upstairs accommodation, the Hadeda has an outside veranda overlooking the river where it is lovely to sit and have a sundowner or braai in the weber supplied. It can sleep seven in two bedrooms with two single beds pushed together in each bedroom, along with bunk beds in the one bedroom and an extra bed in the lounge. The garage is situated underneath the Hadeda and leads into the Hadeda staircase up to the lounge.

Hoopoe Room (2 units)

These rooms are used for overflow when there is a party group booking for Hlala Lapha or Jabulani, which cannot be fully accommodated in the other self-catering units. They are situated in the main homestead and have two separate toilets, a shower and bath. Couples wanting private accommodation should book into the self-catering units.

FABULOUS STAY!!!
We had the most fabulous stay, the view, airplanes landing and taking of, wild life sounds, bush and river is just amazing, thank you Dianne for all your trouble to make everything just perfect for a gr8 time away from all the city rush, it was just the perfect spot for a quick break away!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hills & Dales. The welcome was warm and friendly and I felt right at home from the start. I enjoy self catering units and this facility fulfilled my needs to such an extend that I will definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at Hills and Dales. Di and Tim made us feel extremely welcome, the accommodation is located in a beautiful area and also very close to Lanseria Airport. The meals were also outstanding. I recommend Hills and Dales to any person.
