Description
Medindi is a secluded Edwardian manor of grand dimensions, banded by ground and first-floor verandas with a garden and sparkling swimming pool tucked away at the foot of Table Mountain. Relaxed and informal, Medindi Manor offers comfortable stylish bedrooms. Decorated with lovely period pieces. Some of the rooms have their own doors out onto the verandah. The main building, which was built in the late 1890's, has recently been renovated with panache and a sensitive feel for the period.
Medindi Manor offers comfortable stylish bedrooms equip with bar-fridges, telephones, TVs, coffee and tea-making facilities and towels. There are unique, antique touches everywhere, such as Edwardian designs for stately marble and slate floors, and the magnificent antique wardrobes in each bedroom. Bathrooms have free-standing bath, Victorian plate shower heads, brass fittings and a small antique cabinet has been found for each. Most rooms in the Manor house still have the Oregon pine floors, bay windows, intricate ceilings and marble fireplaces, all original.
There is modernity too, in bright wall colours yellows, greens and blues and splashes of modern art-from the turn of one century to the turn of the next. Music is an important ingredient for Kyle, Medindi's owner/manager, and classical music and a bit of jazz wafts through reception. A free-wheeling, relaxed, youthful place. Luxury Rooms (2 units)
All luxury rooms are huge and delightfully furnished with period pieces. All en-suite bathrooms have a shower and a free-standing Victorian bath, an antique wooden cabinet and gorgeous brass fittings.

Superior Rooms (9 units)
The Superior rooms have either a super extra length beds or queen size extra length beds, some have both bath and shower while some have either bath or shower. They are decorated with period pieces and the rooms are spacious.

Medindi Cottage (1 unit)
Medindi has two lovely self-catering cottages in the garden, with easy access to the main house and the splendid pool. Medindi Cottage is a spacious and comfortable self-catering unit, air-conditioned, with a fully equipped kitchen. Madiba cottage is slightly smaller and has an openplan kitchenette. Both cottages have a private entrance and off-street parking. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the manor house, on prior arrangement, and at an additional charge.

Garden Rooms (4 units)
They have queen size beds or twin single beds, they are all en-suite with French doors opening into the gardens, next to the pool. they either have baths or showers not both. All our rooms have DSTV and have mini bar fridges.

Enjoyable stay
Our stay was very enjoyable and the breakfast scrumptious. We were also very impressed that Medindi arranged transport to take all runners of the 2 Oceans Marathon and half marathon to the starting points just after an early breakfast.

Wonderful service
I made reservations through the internet for my grad students arriving for the first time in Cape Town from Vancouver, Canada. They were totally charmed with everything at Medindi Manor. We highly recommend this property to anyone. A special thanks to the staff for wonderful service!
